Emma Stone prefers to be addressed by her real name, Emily. She chose "Emma" as her stage name, since there was already another Emily Stone. Stone said it would be "so nice" if fans started addressing her as Emily. This all came up when Fielder told THR reporter Seth Abramovitch that he was going to call Emma by her given name during the interview. CNN —Emma Stone is setting the record straight about her viral reaction to a joke made at this year’s Oscars by host Jimmy Kimmel. “I didn’t call him a p—k,” she told the Hollywood Reporter in an interview published on Wednesday. I’ll have to look that up.”Throughout the Oscars telecast, a montage of scenes from each of the 10 best picture-nominated films was shown. After the “Poor Things” clip played, Kimmel joked that “those were all the parts of ‘Poor Things’ that we’re allowed to show on TV,” seemingly in reference to the graphic and sexual nature of the R-rated film. Lanthimos and Stone previously worked together on 2018’s “The Favourite” prior to “Poor Things,” and are teaming back up for “Kinds of Kindness,” coming out on June 21.

The app, called Apple Sports, does one thing well: show sports scores from all the major teams and leagues. Apple services chief Eddy Cue said the company designed the app to be fast and simple for multiple quick checks per day. This new app, which won't come pre-installed on iPhones, is tightly integrated with Apple's other Services apps, such as the TV app and News app. It works for sports Apple carries, as well as games on streaming services that are connected to the Apple TV app, many of which still require a cable subscription but will increasingly be available from over-the-top streamers. Apple will also have features that will allow users to follow college basketball's March Madness tournament in the app, Cue said.

SEATTLE (AP) — The Atlanta Braves acquired outfielder Jarred Kelenic, pitcher Marco Gonzales and infielder Evan White from the Seattle Mariners on Sunday night for right-handed pitchers Cole Phillips and Jackson Kowar. The move added a veteran lefty to the Braves pitching staff, along with Kelenic, who at one time was one of baseball's top young prospect. In the process, Seattle cleared a chunk of salary off its payroll, giving up on Kelenic in order for the Braves to take the contracts of Gonzales and White. Gonzales is owed $12 million for the 2024 season, while White has $17 million in guaranteed money remaining on his contract. Gonzales pitched in only 10 games last season before undergoing surgery to relieve pressure on a nerve in his left arm.

In his Comedy Central series, “Nathan for You,” he came up with outlandish ideas to promote small businesses, often capturing the surreality of human behavior as he instituted his plans. In his latest series, Showtime’s “The Curse,” created with the “Uncut Gems” filmmaker Benny Safdie, Fielder has stopped playing himself but has kept the same fascination. At the center of the first episode are two incidents that involve his character, Asher Siegel, caught in unflattering and uncomfortable situations on camera. Whitney is outraged — even if that outrage is performative, she has a reputation to maintain — but Asher is more comfortable with Dougie’s machinations. He wants to trust his childhood friend, even though from early on it seems clear that Dougie deserves no one’s trust.

“It’s a mishegas,” Whitney Siegel (Emma Stone), a convert to Judaism, says to her husband, Asher Siegel (Nathan Fielder), as they do a good deed for a needy family. “Mitzvah,” Asher corrects her. “Mishegas means something else.” (It means, roughly, “craziness” in Yiddish.) “The Curse,” which has its streaming premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime Friday and its on-air premiere on Showtime Sunday, is also something else — several things else. Above all, “The Curse” is an unnerving, erratic, dizzyingly original exploration of the fine line between mitzvah and mishegas.

Needing 19 runs off Mitchell Starc's final over, New Zealand milked 13 runs off the first four legitimate deliveries to keep the heat on Australia. "That was awesome," Australia captain Pat Cummins said after their fourth win in six matches. Glenn Phillips broke the burgeoning stand by taking a return catch to dismiss Warner, but Head raced to a 59-ball century. New Zealand were uncharacteristically sloppy in the field, dropping five catches, with Head the beneficiary on two occasions. That left Ferguson with the job of hitting the final delivery for six, but he drilled it straight to the cover fielder instead.

Hours after the Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros on Monday night to advance to the World Series, Adolis García, the Rangers right fielder, posted 29 shushing-face emojis on X, the social platform once known as Twitter. It was a message to the Astros fans who had booed him during his at-bats. Dozens of Rangers fans immediately chimed in. Sports reporters shared the post, and hundreds of other observations about the Rangers’ victory quickly followed. Since Elon Musk bought Twitter last year, many users have abandoned the platform, spurred by a number of unpopular changes.

The Rangers, who are seeking their first World Series championship, started the playoffs red hot, hammering the Tampa Bay Rays in two road games and emerging victorious from the wild card round. They followed that up by sweeping the 101-win Baltimore Orioles in the Division Series before overcoming the Astros in Game Seven of the ALCS to capture the franchise's third pennant. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy will send ace Nathan Eovaldi to the mound for Game One. ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Texas Rangers are back in the World Series for the first time since twice being within one strike of winning the 2011 title.
